ABSTRACT:

In few decades the fossil energy sources like oil and coal we use nowadays will be exhausted. To avoid this we either must change our lifestyle and the habit of wasting energy or we have to find other ways to get energy without exploiting the earth as biomass energy.

Due to increasing need of energy we require different renewable energy sources because the coal and other sources of energy, which are present in earth, are decreases at alarming rate. We are presenting the paper on “BIOMASS –AS A NON CONVENTIONAL ENERGY SOURCE” because the raw material required is easily available and cheap.

This paper highlights introduction of biomass, which is any organic matter as wood, crops, animal wastes-that can be used as an energy source. Also this paper gives idea about types of biomass such as wood and agricultural products, solid waste, landfill gas, alcohol fuels etc. How to convert it in usable form. This paper gives idea about biomass today& in future. What is the potential of biomass in India? Advantages and limitations of biomass and its applications.
We are trying to minimize the energy crises in India by using waste material in agriculture.
