ABSTRACT:

The areas of digital image processing was started to develop in 1921.The first image produced in coded tape by telegraph printer. in on 31st july1964 the first picture of the moon is taken by U.S.
Image processing is used in medical dygnostatics,X-ray imaging, imaging in ultraviolet band.. Image segmentation is a very important step in image processing. Extracting useful information from an image is the goal of image segmentation.
Digital Image Processing consists of several steps. The first step is image acquisition-that is, to acquire a digital image. After a digital image has been obtained, the next step deals with preprocessing that image. in ways that increase the chances for success of the other processes. The next stage deals with image segmentation. Image segmentation partitions an input image into its constituent parts or objects. The principal approaches in the first category are based on edge detection, and boundary detection.
In future only digital image processing can won the war in ‘SPACE’ by human.
