SEGMENTAL LAUNCHING OF PRECAST GIRDER CASE STUDY:- DMRC PROJECT

INTRODUCTION:

With the continuous increase in population of the metropolitan cities in India has lead serious problem of high traffic congestion leading to wastage of time, accidents and pollution. More and more people are migrating to metro cities and so the problem could be more devastating. The use of public transport facilities like Mass Rapid Transit System can be the remedial measure for the problem of Congestion, Accidents and Pollution. Hence lots and lots of projects like construction of Flyovers; Metro rails are planned especially in metro cities. Segmental Launching Method of Precast Girder is being carried out for the execution of DMRC project. In the following the description of construction technique involved for segmental launching of precast girder is explained with the case study of DMRC project.
