1. Deputy Librarian – 1 Post
Pay Band: `15600‐39100/‐ (PB‐3) + Academic Grade Pay `8000/‐ and allowances as admissible.
Essential Qualification & Experience: Master’s degree in Library Science / Information Science/ Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade. Persons holding analogous post or with at least 8 years experience as an Assistant Librarian in the pre‐revised scale of pay of `8000‐275‐13500/‐ or above preferably in a Central Technical/Management Institute or University. Evidence of innovative library service like
implementation of RFID Technology, Digital Library, published work and professional commitment.
Desirable: Ph.D. degree in appropriate discipline.
2. Assistant Registrar – 1 Post
Pay Band: `15600‐39100/‐ (PB‐3) + Grade Pay `5400/‐ and allowances as admissible.
Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree with at least 55% of marks, or its equivalent grade of “B” in the UGC seven point scale; along with a good academic record.
Desirable Persons holding analogous post or minimum 8 years of working experience in one or more of the following areas: Accounting, Auditing, and Financial procedures OR Administrative matters including Establishment, Recruitment, Legal, Meeting OR Academic matters such as conduct of examinations, maintenance of students records OR Stores & Purchase related matters such as procurement / distribution of materials, store accounting , stock verification, of which 5 years in a supervisory capacity in a Government, Semi Government, reputed University, Technical Institution etc. Knowledge/ experiences Computer system for information processing & retrieval and ability to work independently will be preferred.
3. System Analyst – 1 Post
Pay Band: `15600‐39100/‐ (PB‐3) + Grade Pay `5400/‐ and allowances as admissible.
Essential Qualification & Experience: BE/B. Tech in Computer Science/Electronics & Electrical Communication Engineering/IT with first class and 5 years of experience in IT related positions,
OR MCA with first class/ M. Sc. in Applied Sciences / Mathematics / Physics / Statistics with first
class and 5 years of experience in IT related positions.
Desirable: Working experience in Configuration and Management of Router and L2/L3/L4 Switches, Network Management, Management of Internet lease Line. Advanced knowledge of
installations, upgrades and troubleshooting of 1. RHEL SERVER, 2. Windows 2000/2003, 3. Web Application Servers, 4. Domain Servers, Experience with Internet Information Services (IIS) and JBoss is highly desirable. Advanced database administration skill including backups/restores, monitoring DB performance, running SQL scripts to monitor the system and modify tables when required. Knowledge of MySQL server administration and troubleshooting is highly desirable. Working knowledge of web application security, understanding of vulnerabilities and countermeasures is highly essential.
4. Junior Engineer (Electrical, Civil) – 4 Posts (3‐UR, 1‐OBC)
Pay Band: `9300‐34800/‐ (PB‐2) + Grade Pay `4200/‐ and allowances as admissible.
Essential Qualification & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering/Electrical
Engineering with at least 01 year’s field experience, OR Diploma in Civil Engineering/Electrical Engineering with 03 years field experience. Experience should be in the field of estimation of electrical works, construction and maintenance of HT and LT lines, electrical installation, sub‐stations for the post of Electrical OR experience in execution, supervision/maintenance of a large civil works for the post of Civil.
General Instructions / Information:
1. The institute strives to have a work force which reflects gender balance and women candidates are
encouraged to apply.
2. Reservation of posts shall be as per Government of India rules.
3. The prescribed qualification is minimum and the mere fact that the candidate possesses the same will not
entitle him / her to be called for interview.
4. Candidates applying for more than one post may apply separately for each post indicating the name of
the post.
5. The institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for interview/selection test to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualification and experience, higher than those prescribed in this
advertisement.
6. The institute reserves the right to relax experience in exceptional cases, or in the case of
persons already holding analogous positions in a Central Technical Institute / University /
Research Institution.
7. For selection to the above posts, the Institute may conduct a written test for any category of
post or posts depending upon the number of applications received. The written test, if required, would be conducted at Bhubaneswar and all the candidates would have to appear for the test at his/her own cost.
8. The institute also reserves the right of rejecting any or all the applications without assigning
any reasons thereof.
9. Persons, who are appointed against the above posts, will be covered under the New Pension
Scheme as notified / amended by the Government of India, Ministry of Finance.
10. Persons working under the Central/State Govt./Public Sector Undertakings/Central
autonomous bodies should submit their applications through proper channel. They may,
however, send an advance copy of the application along with enclosures as required to the
address given below. Those who are unable to process their application through proper
channel, they may submit their NOC during the time of interview. However, they should
submit an undertaking in that effect. Direct application from such candidates will not be
entertained.
11. Relaxation of minimum standards for reserved categories will be as per the current norms
prescribed by the Govt. of India.
12. Relaxation of qualifications for any post shall be as per current norms prescribed by Govt. of
India.
13. The Institute reserves its right to offer lower post if the candidate is not found suitable for
the post applied for. Higher initial basic pay may be given to exceptionally qualified and
deserving candidate(s).
14. The upper age limit for posts at Sl. No.1 = 50 years, at Sl. Nos.2 to 3 = 40 years and at Sl. No.4
= 35 years as on 05.04.2011. Age relaxation for SC/ST/PH/Ex‐Serviceman and women
candidates is applicable as per government norms. Employees working under IIT system who
are educationally qualified would be eligible for age relaxation upto 50 years of age for Sl.
Nos. 2 to 4.
Age relaxation for different categories:
SC = 5 years
ST = 5 years
OBC = 3 years
PH = 5 years
Ex‐serviceman = Service rendered in Defence + 3 years.
No age bar would apply in case of person holding analogous posts who have applied to serve
on deputation basis.
15. No interim enquires / correspondence / communication of any sort will be entertained on
the matter.
16. Canvassing in any form and / or brining any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated
as a disqualification.
17. Application incomplete in any respect and not accompanied by relevant certificate /
documents / photograph / demand draft etc. will be summarily rejected.
Copies of Certificates to be attached:
Candidates should submit along with their application duly attested (By a Gazetted Officer) copy of:
(a) Certificates pertaining to Educational qualifications/experience and technical qualifications
(supported by appropriate mark sheets indicating the subjects offered at the examinations).
(b) Certificate of date of birth.
(c) Certificate in support of their claim that they belong to SC/ST/OBC/PH. However, candidates
belonging to OBC should furnish the Caste Certificate in the prescribed format of the
Department of Personnel & Training OM dated: 02.07.1997 as prescribed in Annexure‐1 of
the said O.M. to the effect that they are not in the creamy layer failing which their claim for
OBC will not be accepted.

2. The Application and the outer cover should be superscribed as “Application for the post of
……………………………..… against Advertisement No……………………….”.
3. A recent coloured passport size photograph should be affixed on the right hand top corner
of the application.
4. Applications should be accompanied with a non‐refundable demand draft of `200/‐ for the
post of Sl. Nos. 1 to 3 and `100/‐ for the post of Sl. No. 4 drawn on Scheduled Bank in
favour of “IIT BHUBANESWAR” payable at Bhubaneswar. SC/ST and Physically Handicapped
candidates are exempted from payment of any application fee. The candidates should
write their name and post applied for on the backside of the demand draft.
The completed application, with relevant certificates for qualifications and experiences, age etc.
along with bank draft in a sealed envelope addressed to Assistant Registrar(A&E), Indian Institute of
Technology Bhubaneswar, Samantapuri, Bhubaneswar‐751013 (Odisha) must reach (By post only)
the Institute on or before 5th April, 2011. If a delay is foreseen in obtaining all the clearances for serving officials, extension of a reasonable period may be given in exceptional cases on specific request provided an advance copy of the application is sent by the due date.
