The adoption of ubiquitous supply chain management
Ubiquitous computing is gradually being recognized as the emerging computing paradigm, which will eventually bring an integration of physical space and electronic space by reducing the gap between them. The technological characteristics of ubiquitous computing tend to be smart, networked and mobile. However, these characteristics alone seem to be insufficient in understanding the various types of u-business models enabled by ubiquitous computing.
We attempt to address useful information on how to successfully adopt ubiquitous supply chain management (U-SCM). In relation to this, we briefly outline the design of this research. The two different analysis levels - the macro and micro levels - are applied in examining the major success factors influencing the U-SCM adoption. The macro-level research provides a general understanding, a unified view and a theoretical background for the next step of this research, while the micro-level research provides a specific and more focused analysis which is the main research objective.
