profoundly known as VIT was started in 1984 by Honorable Shri. G. Viswanathan.
He is founder chancellor of the University and a former parliamentarian. The
sole aim of the University is to provide quality education on par with International
Universities at an affordable cost Mr. Sankar Viswanathan, Mr. G.V. Sampath,
Mr. Sekar Viswanathanand Mr. G. V. Selvam are serving the University as Vice—Presidents.
Dr. V. Raju the Vice-Chancellor is spearheading the academic activities in VIT
University. VIT is the first Institute in India to get International Accreditation
from IET (UK). Teaching at VIT University is structured around six schools of
study and many Centers. Research centres are also part of the schools,
encouraging interdepartmental collaboration and opportunity for students to
participate in exciting research projects. The university offers 18 Undergraduate
and 31 Postgraduate programmes. It also offers research programmes leading to MS

a place which fosters innovation. As one of the nine constituent schools of VIT
University, it takes pride to be one of the fast growing business schools in
the country. The school attracts students from all over the country. and many
other foreign nationals. The school has well qualified and industry experience
rich faculty with many holding doctoral degrees. Currently, significant number
of faculty members are involved in funded research projects too. International
academic partnerships have been established with various foreign universities. VIT

About the Programme
FOR WHOM:
This programme is
primarily targeted for the research scholars and faculty members either doing
or planning to do research in the area of management and allied. The workshop
will be also very useful for those teachers who offering courses in Research
methodology , marketing research, quantitative techniques, Business
Intelligence, Business Statistics and Business Analytics who would like to
introduce the advanced data analysis methods to their students.
OBJECTIVE:
The objective of the
workshop is to provide hands on experience to the participants in analyzing and
interpreting data using Data Analysis software. The participants will learn
about the use of various multivariate methods in research, how to design the
study to collect data amenable for such analysis, and the issues involved in
coding, editing, analyzing, and reporting research data. The primary focus will
be on survey research.
PRELIMINARIES :
Design of data
collection forms/research instruments and methods of assessing the reliability
and validity. Issues of Scaling, Editing, Coding. Descriptive Statistics, Use
of Charts and diagrams, Cross Tabulation Hypothesis Testing Procedures.
ADVANCED METHODS
Regression Models,
Factor Analysis, Discriminant Analysis, Mediation Analysis - Cluster Analysis, Time
Series Forecasting , Data Mining and Neural networks & Structural Equation
Modeling(SEM).
PEDAGOGY :
The workshop will be
skill oriented and would emphasize hands on data analysis using statistical
software's. Case studies and exercises will be used to supplement learning.
