International Conference on High Performance Architecture and Grid Computing (HPAGC-2011) At CHITKARA UNIVERSITY, PUNJAB

International Conference on High Performance Architecture and Grid Computing (HPAGC-2011) At CHITKARA UNIVERSITY, PUNJAB

Over the last decade, the definition of what is called high performance computing has changed dramatically. In 1988, an article appeared in the Journal titled “Attack of the Killer Micros” that described how computing systems made up of many small inexpensive processors would soon make large supercomputers obsolete. As a result nearly every person with computer access has some “high performance” processing. As the peak speeds of these new personal computers increase, these computers encounter all the performance challenges typically found on supercomputers.

The Grid can be thought of as a distributed system with non-interactive workloads that involve a large number of files. High Performance Computing (HPC) has in many ways been the original driver for Grid computing and research infrastructures. It was HPC which presented the requirement for increased computational power which could not be satisfied by the existing range of HPC machines. The need to combine a number of different HPC machines to tackle urgent and computationally demanding applications drove both researchers and the technology infrastructure. What distinguishes grid computing from conventional high performance computing systems is that grids tend to be more loosely coupled, heterogeneous, and geographically dispersed. Initially grid computing was used by technologically advanced scientific users. They used grid computing to experiment with large scale problems which required high performance computing facilities and collaborative work. In the next stage of development, the grid computing technology has become effective and economically attractive for large and medium size commercial companies. It is expected that eventually the grid computing style of providing computing power will become universal reaching every user in industry and business.

Objective

The International Conference on High-Performance Architecture and Grid Computing (HPAGC-2011) is the Information Research Conference aimed at presenting and exchanging current research themes and experiences and fosters a relationship among universities, research institutes, industry and policy makers to take stock of the current developments and have a look into the future trends in this area.

International Conference on Intelligent Healthcare At Interscience Institute of Management and Technology, Bhubaneswar

International Conference on Intelligent Healthcare At Interscience Institute of Management and Technology, Bhubaneswar

About ICIH:

Healthcare represents one of the most complicated practice systems on earth. Intelligent Healthcare system can be thought of as a medium for easier operability among all stakeholders of this community namely caregivers (doctors, nurses, and paramedical staffs) and information technology providers and the true stakeholder the patient community.

It is likely that the amount of data that Healthcare providers will have to manage in next years will exponentially increase. This data growth will be a burden on both for the IT infrastructure and the practice of Healthcare itself. All medical outcomes are based upon access to accurate and readily available information. Issues related to system connectivity, response time and accuracy are likely to impact healthcare provision negatively if new approaches to healthcare information management are not developed quickly.

The primary problem is increasing complexity. The solution must be aimed at how that problem will evolve over the next decade, rather than focus solely upon mastery of the past decade’ s technology. This “ capability gap” can only be bridged through adoption of an intelligent healthcare integration philosophy.

Healthcare process management is in a sense a formalization of medical practice approaches that for the most part are not automated and in some cases likely never can be fully automated. Healthcare, by its nature, requires a good deal of physical interaction guided by various formally or informally managed processes including, Diagnostics, Prognostics, Treatment, Patient Tracking, Facilities Management.

The nature of challenge for Intelligent Healthcare is complexity, both in terms of medical practice and the ability to achieve interoperability between clinical systems. The key takeaway is the realization that automation without interoperability makes healthcare more complex than before because we are necessarily adding many new sources of data to nearly every medical process without the ability to correlate it in meaningful ways. This adds a burden to the caregiver when in fact the systems should be facilitating the existing knowledge overload crisis.

This conference aims at bringing researchers, computer professionals, and doctors who are working in this area to deliberate on this topic.

Papers will be reviewed by at least two referees each. The target acceptance rate of the conference is 40%.

International Conference On Advances in Civil Engineering (ACE-2011) At K.L. College of Engineering, Veddeswaram

About Conference

There is fascination of watching a figment of the imagination emerging through the aid of science to a plan on paper. Then it brings jobs and homes, elevates the standards of living and adds to the comforts of life. The expansions of civil engineering infrastructures such as dams, railways, high-ways, bridges, mass transit systems, ports, and airports form the infrastructure which aids in improving the living standards of the ever-increasing global population. Rising demands for energy, drinking water, clean air, safe waste disposal, and transportation require environmental protection and infrastructure development. Along with these, the society continues to face increased threats from natural events, accidents, and perhaps other causes such as terrorism. Proud of its legacy, the global civil engineering community cannot rest on its laurels. Meeting these challenges requires active engage-ment on a variety of environmental and infrastructure fronts. Dealing with these problems will require intra-disciplinary, cross-disciplinary, and multidisciplinary collaboration on projects and in research and development.

Continued advances in areas such as environmental engineering, water management, seismology, geology, offshore engineering, pavement materi-als, transportation engineering, concrete science, structural and geotechni-cal engineering are required to meet the ever increasing demands.

There is an urgent need for the researchers and the practising engineers to keep abreast of the latest trends and developments. Keeping in view the above perspective, an international conference on Advances in Civil Engineering is being organized by the Civil Engineering Department, K L University, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India, during October, 21—23, 2011. in association with Cafet Innova Technical Society and Indian Geotechnical Society, Guntur Chapter.
