Lift evacuation system during power failures

ABSTRACT

In this model we have proposed few modification in the existing lift to adapt to the frequent power failures. Whenever there is power failure, the lift would halt suddenly in its instantaneous position, be it any particular flour or in between two floors.
The proposed system works as follows:
It consists of a hydraulic system which will bring down the lift to the immediate lower floor in case it is struck in between two floors and open the door for the passengers.
The main advantage of this system will be observed in taller buildings where lift man would take a long time to reach the higher floors and cause inconvenience to the commuters.
