PREAMBLE

Over the years, the country has made phenomenal progress in the field related to fluid Mechanics and solid mechanics due to rapid advancements in Computational and Experimental Facilities. The outcome has immensely benefited the industries, research organisations and academic organisations in numerous ways. The national seminar on Recent Advances in Fluid and Solid Mechanics will provide common platforms for academicians, engineers and technologists to come together and discuss the progress made on various aspects of fluid mechanics and solid mechanics.

VENUE

The conference will be held during 27 -28 February 2010 at National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, Orissa, India. Rourkela is one of the well developed steel townships on Howrah-Mumbai main line (via Nagpur) of South Eastern Railway. It is well connected by railway network to the rest of India. The NIT campus is about 8 km from Rourkela Railway station. Weather in Rourkela in February will be very pleasant. Light woolen cloth may be required.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Papers for presentation in the technical sessions of the conference are invited from Engineers, Scientists, Academicians, R&D personnels, Consultants, Government and Non-Government agencies, NGOs etc. The abstract of paper (in duplicate) should be forwarded to the Convener. It should be approximately 250 words, typed in A4 size paper with one and a half spacing and should include title of the paper, name of the author(s), and full address of correspondence including Email ID. After scrutiny of abstract by the technical committee, the authors will be intimated with detailed guidelines for submission of full text of the paper (both hard and soft copy). Slots for commercial presentation from Industries will be available.

ACCOMODATION
A limited number of rooms with shared accommodations will be available in the Guest Houses of the NIT Rourkela at a very reasonable charge. A good number of hotels with affordable tariff are also available in the city having boarding charges ranging from Rs. 300/- to Rs. 3000/- per day.
