National Seminar on MODERN TRENDS IN APPLIED MATHEMATICS (NSMTAM-2010) 9th & 10th October, 2010 At Andhra University

Objectives:

It is well known that Applied Mathematics plays a vital role in Engineering, Physical, Biological and Economical Sciences. The main objective in organising this seminar is to discuss the modern trends in Applied Mathematics and devolepments
in the fields of Applied Group theory, Relativity & Cosmology, Applied Functional Analysis, Boundary Value Problems, Solid and Fluid Mechanics, Operations Research, Cryptography, Numerical Methods, Graph Theory, Mathematical Modeling and other related areas of Applied Mathematics. This seminar will provide an opportunty to interact with Applied Mathematicians and to exchange views about the many inventions and innovations that are taking place from time to time in the above fields. The seminar will include presentations of research papers and invited talks by distinguished
academicians from various Institutions. The seminar is a part of the birth centenary celebrations of late Prof.T.Venkatarayudu (1910-2010), a former head of the department.

Andhra University:

Andhra University established in 1926, is one of the oldest Universities in India. It has earned a great reputation for high level acadamic and research activities among Indian and Foreign Universities.Recently the NAAC, an autonomous body of the UGC has accredited the Andhra University with ‘A’ grade with CGPA 3.65 on four point scale. It occupies 11th position among 50 top universities in India.

Dept. of Applied Mathematics:

The Department of Applied Mathematics was originally strated as the department of Mathematical Physics in the year 1942. In 1966, it was renamed as the Department of Applied Mathematics keeping in view the Mathematical Applications in various branches of Physics, Engineering, Biological & Economical Sciences. The faculty of this department is well qualified and is actively engaged in research apart from teaching and published more than 600 research papers in various National & International Journals.

Submission of research Papers:

Original research papers in any field of Applied Mathematics are invited for presentation. The abstract for paper presentation not exceeding 500 words is to be submitted (hard and soft copy) on or before September 25, 2010.

Registration :

The Registration fee is Rs. 500/- per person. It may be paid through a demand draft drawn in favour of NATIONAL SEMINAR ON MODERN TRENDS IN APPLIED MATHEMATICS(NSMTAM-2010) payable at Visakhapatnam. All the participants are requested to register their names on or before September 25, 2010.

Accommodation :

Arrangements will be made for stay to the out station participants in the University Guest Houses or at local Hotels on request.
