Low Power Embedded System using MSP430 30,31 Aug. and 1 Sept. 2010

MSP430

MSP430 is an ultra lowpower16-bit microcontroller family from Texas Instruments. MSP430 family of microcontrollers find widespread use in applications such as energy meters, medical applications, and wireless sensor networks. The combination of the tiny MSP430F2013 and the highly integrated MSP430FG4618 provides nearly every combination of peripherals available from the MSP430 family. The integrated TI wireless evaluation module header and the large amounts of RAM on the MSP430FG4618 makes it an ideal platform for wireless applications. The wide range of integrated peripherals and hardware connectivity allows for nearly infinite development possibilities and makes it the ideal learning platform “the MSP430 MCU”

About FDP

In this workshop, the intention is to expose faculty community to the concepts of embedded systems, ultra low power consumption, board features. The MSP430EXP430FG4618 tool from Texas Instruments
will be used to illustrate these concepts. This tool is based on MSP430FG4618 and F2013 microcontroller and TI Wireless Evaluation Modules: CC1100, CC1101, CC1150, CC2500, CC2550, & CC2420. The workshop will include lectures, demonstrations, and hands on experiments. In the lectures, we will cover aspects of Low Power VLSI Design, MSP430, and interfacing MSP430 with analog and digital peripherals. The faculty will be permitted to carry out hands on experiments on the MSP430EXP430FG4618.

. Who can apply?

The FDP is open to faculty members of Medical Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Instrumentation, Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunication & all Electrical Science departments of engineering colleges, and the interested persons from the related field from all parts of our country.
