ABSTRACT

As in every state of market there is tremendous compition so it is now very necessary to increase productivity keeping good quality. At the same time we have to keep the cost optimum compared to others. Hence automation is becoming very necessary part of production. If we consider the types of production basic three types of productions are there 
1> Job production       
2> Batch production       
3> Mass or flow production.
In job production, manufacturing of single ( or very few)  products, is involved. No two jobs are usually alike. Batch production is type of production in which parts are manufacturing in fixed quantities called as batches. While flow or mass production is production system in which large quantities of identical parts are continuously manufactured, “Transfer machine” is applicable for flow type of production. Flow production brought low priced standardized products. Such as television set motor car, etc. Thus transfer m/c implies a high rate of production by decreasing the time of manufacturing a product. Thus price oftenly is also decreased. Transfer m/cs are again useful in Automatic loading & transferring methods. It  has done great job in automatic inspection which leads to decrease in inspection period & again decrease in complexity of inspection. Applies for servicing the tool. Press works can also carried out using transfer machines.
