SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)

SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)

ABSTRACT:

An industrial SCADA system will be used for the development of the controls of the four LHC experiments. This paper describes the SCADA systems in terms of their architecture, their interface to the process hardware, the functionality and the application development facilities they provide. Some attention is also paid to the industrial standards to which they abide, their planned evolution as well as the potential benefits of their use.

MASON-GREY designed a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) System to provide overall control of a client’s material handling process from a central control room in the plant. The purpose of the SCADA system is to provide centralized control of process, and to log a history of important process parameters for trending, quality control, etc. purpose

The SCADA System consists of an IBM-compatible computer running a SCADA software package.Because of the importance of the SCADA system’s uptime, a faisafe system is of critical importance.
