AIR-BREATHING ENGINES

AIR-BREATHING ENGINES

INTRODUCTION:

Advancement in technology is bound to improve out transportation systems. Very fast transportation systems have made the world very small. We are now in JET-AGE.
Jet propulsion is based on Newton’s second law and third law of motion.

SECOND LAW: The rate of change of momentum in any direction is proportional to the force acting in that direction.

THIRD LAW: For every action, there is equal and opposite reaction.
In a jet engine, reaction principle is used. The fluid, whose velocity is increased, is ejected from the jet engine in the form of high velocity gases, which gives thrust in the opposite direction to the plane.
