CRYPTOGRAPHY

ABSTRACT:

These days network security is serious and complex business. True security requires the co-ordination of staff and technology across the enterprise infrastructure as well as educated in co-operative users. But even the best of the information security policies will fail if the underlying network is not secured. You may think you are doing all you can do to protect your network but think again. Security dangers you are not even aware can be lurking in every corner of your network.

There are many aspects to security and many applications, ranging from secure commerce and payments to private communications and protecting passwords. One essential aspect for secure communications is that of cryptography, which is the focus of this paper.

In data and telecommunications, cryptography is necessary when communicating over any untrusted medium, which includes just about any network, particularly the Internet.

This paper highlights types of cryptographic algorithms , their applications and its future for securing purposes.
