ABSTRACT:

Computer technology has made life easy for us. So also it has made life easy for criminals. These criminals now commit traditional crimes in non-traditional ways. The use of computers, fast development of communication technologies and lack of sufficient national and international e-crime control mechanisms has made life further easy for the criminals. This seminar on ‘ELECTRONIC CRIME’ aims at creating awareness about few of the many electronic crimes and discusses some of the real life examples of electronic crime and punishments awarded to them.

The electronic crimes covered in this seminar include internet fraud, software piracy, and unethical hacking and cyber terrorism. As the situation stands today the electronic criminals have an upper hand due to the reasons mentioned above. This seminar also discusses the situation of electronic crime control in India in particular, the evidences that can be used against an electronic criminal and certain conclusions based on the topics discussed.
