EMBEDDED SYSTEM

EMBEDDED SYSTEM

Abstract:

Now a days embedded system are used widely in many application it covers almost all fields of applications and makes them to work consciously. These embedded systems are superior than ordinary sensors because of their special characteristics.

Fixed functionality.
Reactive nature (real time response)
Heterogeneous implementation (software + hardware implementation)

This helps to perform the operation very accurately within less time. Embedded sensors enable real time monitoring at some critical location, which is not accessible to ordinary system, which is used for sensing operation.

Embedded computing systems are found everywhere, including in cellular telephones, pagers, VCRs, camcorders, thermostats, curbside rental-car check-in devices, automated supermarket stockers, computerized inventory control devices, One approaches in embedded system is those rather than sophisticated displays, uses a few buttons to control the menu system and due to which such devices are simple, lights weighted, less power consumption, and low cost.

An embedded system performs pre-defined tasks, usually with very specific requirements. Since the systems dedicated to a specific requirements if perfect design consideration are used for design, it provides many advantages such as reduce in size, cost of product.

This paper explains applications of embedded system. Example such as health monitoring, for military applications, aerospace applications, real time applications etc. as well as impotent characteristics of the embedded systems and its advantages over the conventional methods.
