FUTURE COMPUTING

FUTURE COMPUTING

ABSTRACT:

In this seminar, we take a close look at the some of the methods of recently evolved methods of computing which might change the face of computing.
We focus on mainly 3 methods of computing here:

1. DNA Computing.
2. Membrane Computing.
3. Computing using carbon Nanotubes.

DNA and Membrane Computing are basically different from present generation of computers and involve biological methods for computation purpose. They have proven to be very unique since they have the potential to solve certain problems maybe much more efficiently than the conventional computing methods.

Carbon Nanotubes are basically tubes having very small diameter, of the order of nanometers. They, however are not a source of parallel computing, instead provide an alternative replacement to silicon as the basic material for circuitry.
Thus Carbon Nanotubes aim to boost current computing capacities of the conventional computers due to their small size.
