ABSTRACT:

Now in this 21st century life has become very simplified and luxurious. Communication as well as hand work has become easier than early years all this revolution has happened due to use of “embedded systems” in our day to day life.

The “embedded system” is a computing device combining hardware and software, which perform a dedicated function. In general, incorporation with hardware, operating signal (os) ,low level software binding the os and peripheral to enable the device to perform predefined functions. Comparison to a computer that performs several tasks at a time, an embedded system performs a single well defined task at a time

This paper focuses on “space shuttle” as an application of Embedded System and ultimately explains all whole and sole of space shuttle. We have tried to explain the architecture of “Space shuttle” and the future improvements in it which will enhance the Space Exploration.

This paper also gives a brief overview of space disasters occurred in the history which includes the “Columbia, Endeavour Disasters”. There was shock around the world over these tragedies. The paper also explains the reasons of the accidents.

Hidden beneath its familiar shape, the “Space Shuttle” has undergone a metamorphosis. From the inside out, thousands of advances in technology and enhanced designs have been incorporated into the Shuttle since it first launched. Today's Shuttle is a safer, more powerful and more efficient spacecraft. The future shuttle will be the most up-to-date Space Shuttle ever. From a new "glass cockpit" to main engines estimated threefold safer.
