Supply chain management

Supply chain management

INTRODUCTION:

The consumer requires his products on time. These products can be put to proper use only if they reach the consumer at the right place and at the right time. To achieve this, there has to be an excellent synchronization between the manufacturer and the consumer. This was the origin of the “Barter system“, as we all know. It was mainly mutual dependence of one person on the other. As things started becoming more and more complicated, where one person had to reach different individuals for his needs, one of the individuals started acting as the mediator in gathering the products from different people and supplying to those in need and thus fulfilling his needs in return. This was the revolutionized form of the Barter system and as we know today it’s being called as the supply chain on a large scale.
