Thermodynamic Advantages of the Six Stroke
ABSTRACT:
As, it is been said that,” necessity is the mother of inventions”, different advancements are taking place in an I. C. Engine. Currently, DI Turbo engine, CD ignition, CV carbs, DTS-i, VT-i engines are the latest versions. These modifications lead to maximize their working performance. So, six stroke, newly invented is the major driving force in future era. It enumerates max limitations of four stroke engine, such as bulky weight, high fuel consumption, etc. Generally, with all basic constituents of an I. C. Engine it is been constructed with some additional elements like upper piston, with upper crank & cam valve disc, reed valve, belt & pulley arrangement which replaces cam shaft. As main piston completes its four strokes simultaneously upper piston having quarter the speed of main, finishes its two strokes, as well as achieving high C.R. with constant volume combustion, also increases period of valve overlap, thus utilizing exhaust extraction effect. Absence of valves within the combustion chamber allows considerable design freedom. Six stroke engines provide more improved results like high BHP, torque & rpm, max. efficiency, cleaner burning with reduced emissions, etc. in comparison with four stroke & two stroke engines. So, six strokes plays an innovative role by giving better overall performance.
Key words- Four stroke, six stroke, engine performance, latest versions in an automobile.
