Call For Workshop Proposals
The ICCCT-2011 organizing committee invites proposals for workshops to be held at the International Conference on Computer Communication &Technology, immediately prior to the technical conference, on Thursday, September 15, 2011 in Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, UP, India.
ICCCT-2011 will provide an informal setting where participants will have the opportunity to discuss specific technical topics in an atmosphere that fosters the active exchange of ideas. Members from all segments of the Computer and Communication community are invited to submit workshop proposals for review. Workshops that focus on new and emerging topics, or on applications, are particularly encouraged. To facilitate interaction and a broad exchange of ideas, each workshop will be limited to 50 participants and should plan for ample time to foster open discussions. Affiliated workshops will be held on Thursday-Friday, September 15-16. The purpose of these workshops is to provide a platform for presenting novel ideas in a less formal and possibly more focused way than the conferences themselves. As such, they also offer a good opportunity for young researchers to present their work and to obtain feedback from an interested community. The format of each workshop is to be determined by the organizers, but it is expected that they contain ample time for general discussion. The preference is for one-day workshops, but other schedules will also be considered.
Submission Information
Proposals for workshops should contain :
• A title and brief (2-page max) description of the workshop topic and content.
• A brief discussion of why and to whom the workshop is of interest
• The desired workshop length (one or two days), and an estimate of the audience size.
• The names, postal addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of the organizers, with one-paragraph statements of their research interests and areas of expertise.
• A budget.
• A list of potential members of the program committee, with an indication of which members have already agreed.
• A description of any shared tasks associated with the workshop.
• A description of special requirements for technical needs.
• The name of the primary contact for the organizing committee; this person must have an email address.
• The URL of the workshop web site.
Responsibilities of ICCCT 2011 and Workshop Organizers
For all accepted proposals, ICCCT-2011 will be responsible for :
• Providing publicity for the workshop series as a whole.
• Providing logistic support and a meeting place for the workshop.
• Together with the organizers, determining the workshop date and time.
• Duplicating working notes and distributing them to the participants.
Workshop organizers will be responsible for the following :
• Setting up a Web site for the workshop according to the template that will be distributed upon acceptance.
• Advertising the workshop and issuing a call for participation/papers. The call must make it clear that the workshop is open to all members of the Computer & Communication community. It should also note that the number of participants is strictly limited. The call should also make clear the process by which the Organizing Committee will select the participants.
• Collecting submissions, notifying acceptances in due time, and ensuring a transparent and fair selection process. All workshop organizers commit themselves to adopt the same deadlines for submissions and notifications of acceptance.
• Making the PDF of the whole workshop notes available to the workshop chair (up to a maximum of 200 pages) as well as a list of audio-visual requirements and any special room requirements.
• Ensuring that the workshop organizers and the participants get registered to the workshop are invited to register to the main conference.
ICCCT-2011 encourages the production of publications based on the workshops, but the ICCCT-2011 name cannot be used on such publications without prior permission. ICCCT-2011 reserves the right to cancel any workshop if deadlines are missed or if too few attendees register for the workshop to support its running costs. To cover costs, it will be necessary to charge workshop participants a workshop fee
Please send proposals and inquiries to: iccct2011@gmail.com
Call For Tutorial Proposals
The ICCCT-2011 organizing committee invites proposals for tutorials to be held at the International Conference on Computer Communication & Technology, on Thursday, September 15, 2011 in Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, UP, India. Proposals are invited for pre-conference tutorials. Tutorials/workshops can be of half-day (3 hours with a half-hour break) or full-day duration (6 hours in two sessions with two half-hour break) on core techniques and areas of knowledge that enjoy broad interest within the Computer Communication & Technology Community. We are seeking tutorials on established or emerging research topics within the field itself, but we also welcome tutorials from related research fields or application areas provided they are of sufficient interest to the Computer and Communication Community. For detailed descriptions of each tracks click here.
Tutorials should provide participants with information and instruction on well-established or new cutting edge topics or tools, relevant to the conference tracks. Introductory to advanced tutorial sessions are welcome. They are intended to offer participants an opportunity to learn about new research or applications, to get an introduction to important established topics or tools, or to develop higher skill levels in areas in which they are already knowledgeable.
Tutorial participants will not be given tutorial proceedings in a hardcopy format. Instead, organizers of the tutorials will make the proceedings available on their web site prior to the conference/CDs writing the tutorials.
How to Propose a Tutorial
Proposals should provide sufficient information to evaluate the quality and importance of the topic, the likely quality of the presentation materials, and the speakers' teaching ability. When proposing a tutorial, please use the following boldface text as the section headings in your proposal. The proposal should be 2-3 pages long (plus possibly extra materials).
• Topic overview : What will the tutorial be about? Why do you believe this is an interesting and significant subject for the machine learning community at large?
• Target audience : From which areas do you, expect potential participants to come? What prior knowledge, if any, do you expect from the audience? What will the participants learn? How many participants do you expect?
• Content details : Provide a detailed outline of the topics to be presented, including estimates for the time that will be devoted to each subject. Aim for a total length of approximately three hours. If possible, provide samples of past tutorial slides or teaching materials. In case of multiple presenters, specify how you will distribute the work.
• Format : How will you present the material? Will there be multimedia parts of the presentation? Do you plan software demonstrations? Specify any extraordinary technical equipment that you would need.
• Organizers & presenters' expertise : Please include the name, e-mail address, and web page of all presenters. In addition, outline the presenters' background and include a list of publications in the tutorial area.
Tutorial proposals should be submitted via email in PDF format to iccct2011@gmail.com as early as possible but not later than May, 15 2011. after submission, proposers should expect to receive a verification of receipt.
