Dear Colleagues

We take great pleasure in inviting you to the 44th Annual Conference of the Indian Pharmacological Society to be held at Manipal. The Department of Pharmacology, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University, Manipal is taking on the organizer's role. The theme of the conference is Challenges Ahead In Translational
Pharmacology. Manipal, an international education town, is well connected by road, rail and air. There are two main cities close to Manipal that serve as entry points - Udupi and Mangalore. Udupi is 5 km from
Manipal and Mangalore is 65 km away. The nearest airport is at Bajpe (65 Km) near Mangalore .

Manipal University is one of the preferred centers for higher education in India. The University has created an ecosystem of teaching and research excellence making it a universally accepted destination by students.

Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal was established on June 30, 1953. Kasturba Medical College is the first college in the private sector and ranks among the top five medical colleges in the country today. Students from 44 countries have graduated from this college, and its degrees are recognized worldwide.

A one-day Pre-conference Workshop is being scheduled for December 18, 2011. This is intended for postgraduate students of Pharmacology and allied disciplines. The conference will be held from 19th
to 21st December, 2011. The organizers are making all efforts to invite leading scientists belonging to various disciplines from all over the globe. All prestigious IPS orations and award sessions will be there in addition to authoritative invited lectures, plenaries and symposia.

This brochure provides general information and particulars about registration, accommodation and preconference workshop. For details about abstract submission and other necessary forms (Registration, accommodation etc) please visit the IPS website http://www.indianpharmacology.org/. Kindly fill in the details as requested and send them to us before the specified deadlines. Maintaining deadlines is important and we seek your cooperation in this regard.

Pre-Conference workshop

Four parallel workshops, mainly intended for Postgraduate students and junior faculty of Pharmacology, will be conducted on the 18th of December, covering topics like -

Problem based learning Cell culture techniques etc.

The maximum number of seats for each workshop is 50.

Registration fee for preconference workshop covers scientific sessions of workshop, workshop materials, certificate of participation, lunch, high tea and Accommodation in Hostel.
