Seventh Annual Conference of Academy of Discrete Mathematics and Applications (ADMA) and Graph Theory Day VII, 9 ‐ 11 June 2011. At National Institute of Technology, Calicut
As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the National Institute of Technology Calicut, The Department of Mathematics, National Institute of Technology Calicut is hosting the Seventh Annual Conference of Academy of Discrete Mathematics and Applications (ADMA) and Graph Theory Day VII, 9 - 11 June 2011. The holding of the Annual Conference by ADMA is aimed to bring together a sizeable number of active researchers engaged in foraying into the frontiers of the subject. Paper presentations are expected to contribute substantially to raise the academic atmosphere filled with the spirit of innovation and interaction that will keep the peers as well as the sessions lively throughout. Young Discrete Mathematicians, in these sessions, will get a perspective of the subject from the deliberations.
Objectives
Growing specializations and diversification of mathematical topics have brought in a host of monographs and textbooks on increasingly specialized areas. This is especially true in different areas of Discrete Mathematics which are increasingly used to solve problems in many real-world situations.
Discrete Mathematics is one of the fastest growing areas of research in Mathematics due to their wide range of application in many fields namely, Cryptography, Coding Theory, Design theory, Lattice theory etc. Especially graph decomposition, colorings, graph labeling and design theory are inter related and plays vital role in designing aspects of communication networks. Design theory is used to construct codes in the Theory of error correcting codes. Hamilton cycle decompositions of certain product graphs have application in computer architecture. Hypercube, a product graph, is used by the multinational company such as IBM to design its advanced level computers. Embedding problems in product graphs have applications in computer designing. The main aim of this Conference is to bring together researchers and young Scholars in Discrete Mathematics and related disciplines and to impart the young scholars the important areas in Discrete Mathematics (namely, decompositions of graphs, product graphs, graph colorings, labeling of graphs, domination in graphs, graph algorithms, designs, cryptography , coding etc.) and thereby promote research activities in these areas in India.
Graph Theory Day VII and Professor Frank Harary Memorial Endowment Lecture
Academy of Discrete Mathematics and Applications (ADMA) is organizing its annual conferences with a celebration of Graph theory day on 10th June of every year as announced by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. Seventh GRAPH THEORY DAY on 10th June 2011 will be observed with special activities such as expression of appreciation to the Invited Speakers and ' Professor Frank Harary Memorial Endowment Lecture' the First in the series, will be delivered by Prof. Tuza Zsolt , Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest. The late Prof. Frank Harary (University of Michigan and the University of New Mexico) was regarded as "Mr. Graph Theory" across the world.
Organising Institute
National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) is one of the premier national institutions of technical education under the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India. Set in the picturesque landscape at the foothills of the western ghats, NITC is located about 22kms east of Calicut city and NITC offers a placid environment for teaching and research. This institute offers academic programs leading to B.Tech., M.Tech., M.Sc. (Tech.) in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, M.B.A, M.C.A and Ph.D. degrees in Engineering and Science disciplines.
