Engineering Manager
Description
• Candidates with exposure to application engineering, fuel properties, system integration / design, preparation of bill of materials, burner drawings, will be responsible for• Work to improve Maxon's customer support and maintain our position as combustion experts in the industrial heating industry.
• Coordinates activities with sales engineers, designers and engineers including Mechanical, Electrical and Service Engineers to answer technical product and application engineering issues. Operates within Maxon's Sales policy and Engineering procedure to meet specific customer requirements.
• Is responsible for the electrical and mechanical compliance to Maxon Standards and local codes. Oversees the control, maintenance and distribution of all product documentation including product drawings, BOM's and technical specifications.Oversees activities to qualify alternate suppliers of goods or services to be used in Maxon products. Communicates technical information for field sales engineers via phone, e-mail and the Application Engineering Database system.Supervise application tests and simulations on products to answer challenging questions from customers and to promote integration of Maxon products on our customer's equipment.
• Investigates service engineering problems and provides support including engineering drawings and approvals for the SER process.
• Recommends new techniques, changes in procedures or equipment to provide minor enhancements to products to increase their appeal to specific industries or large customers. Consults with Operations and Sales to improve product design for cost reductions and to improve customer satisfaction.
• Plans a course of action to develop systems and tools to promote application expertise in sales and engineering to strengthen our industry position. Maintain current knowledge of industry and code trends to keep products marketable and relative to industry changes. Coordinates and routes all emissions guarantee. Coordinate efforts to advance Engineering and Production capabilities as the market dictates.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals for new products and customer projects. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Manage the training of all technical personnel to maintain necessary skills in design, CAD, Product Data Management and JDEdwards.
