ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The workshop on Frontiers of Materials and Manufacturing Processes will be held in Warangal, Andhra Pradesh on 28th November, 2011. It provides an opportunity to bring together academic researchers and industrial practitioners for the exchange of the latest developments and applications in the areas such as advanced materials processing, manufacturing science and technologies.
The theme of the workshop is on the modeling and simulation aspects of Advanced Materials Processing and Manufacturing. Distinguished researchers and entrepreneurs from across the Nation will be invited to give keynote addresses and contribute to the discussions of interesting topics under the workshop theme.
During the workshop, various research projects and Laboratories developed by Prof. Tagore and his team will be showcased. The achievements of the research group nurtured by Prof. GRN Tagore will be presented.
The Organizing committee of this workshop warmly welcomes all the researchers and industrial practitioners working in the field of materials and manufacturing engineering to actively participate in the programme and
make it a grant success.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
The National Institute of Technology (formerly known as Regional Engineering College) Warangal, was the first in the chain of RECs, and setup in the year 1959. Over the years, the institute has established itself as a premier institution imparting technical education of a very high standard, leading to B.Tech degrees
in various branches of engineering and also awarding M.Tech, M.Sc and Ph.D degrees in various specializations. With a view to give further impetus to the technical education, the Central Government upgraded the RECs to NITs and declared them as Institutes of National Importance.
ABOUT WARANGAL
Warangal city is known for its rich historical and cultural heritage. It is situated at a distance of 140 km from Hyderabad. Warangal is well connected by rail and road. NIT is about 2km away from Kazipet railway station and 12km from Warangal railway station.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers an undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering and five Post-graduate programs in different specialized areas of Mechanical Engineering. The Department has well qualified and experienced faculty and good laboratory facilities. The Department has liaison with
reputed industries and R&D organizations like DRDO, NFTDC, Ashok Leyland, BHEL (R&D); ARAI, Crompton & Greaves Ltd. Currently the Department is executing several consultancy and R&D projects.
The Department also offers Ph.D programme in Mechanical Engineering and also has been recognized as QIP centre for M.Tech and Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering.

Registration:
Registration form in the prescribed format should reach the Coordinator on or before 16th November 2011. The selected participants will be informed through the Institute website (www.nitw.ac.in) or by phone on or before 18th November 2011. Also email communication along with the schedule will be sent to the participants.
The registration fee as given below should be sent in the form of DD drawn in favour of Director, NIT Warangal.

Students and Research Scholars: Rs 200
WHO CAN ATTEND
The programme is open to the personnel from Industry and R & D organizations, the Engineering faculty of AICTE approved Engineering and Polytechnic colleges, students and research scholars.
