About the conference
Manufacturing is the backbone of the economy of a nation. In order to prepare India to cope up with the challenges ahead, it is essential to plan a good strategy for developing manufacturing technology and management for sustainable and equitable growth of all parts of India. Considering it, the national conference “Manufacturing: Vision for Future” is being organized at IIT Guwahati. This conference is aimed to provide a common platform for the interaction of the academia and industry including personnel from research and development organizations from different parts of the country. On this occasion of the conference, it is also befitting to honor Professor V.K. Jain of IIT Kanpur on the completion of 65 years of age, and who is also superannuating on 30th June, 2013 from IIT Kanpur. Prof. Jain has been an active researcher in the area of advanced manufacturing technology, micro-manufacturing and computer applications in manufacturing with a vision for applying these techniques in industry in near future.  Contributory papers are invited from manufacturing researchers on the topics that have potential for practical applications. The conference keywords include but not limited to:

Full paper submission: Instructions to authors

Papers (original research, review articles and case study) from industry, research organization and academia are invited. There will be a special session on papers from industry.
Full papers not exceeding eight pages on an A4 sheet should be submitted in MSWORD format should be emailed to mvf@iitg.ernet.in.
Full paper will be peer reviewed. Authors will be required to submit camera-ready paper after acceptance.

Venue
The conference venue is Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, IITG in abbreviated form.  The campus of IITG is on a sprawling 285 hectares plot of land on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra around 20 kilometers from the heart of the city. With the majestic Brahmaputra on one side, and with hills and vast open spaces on other side, the campus provides an ideal setting for learning. The institute has all required facilities like health center, students' hostels, faculty and staff quarters, guest house, library, computer center, sports facilities, canteens etc. The Guwahati city is well connected to all major cities like Chennai, Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and other metro cities through air, road, and rail. The institute is located at about 15 kilometers from airport and railway station. The weather is generally very pleasant in October with temperature ranging from 20 to 30 °C with relative humidity around 50%. Tourist attractions like Shillong, Cherrapunji and Pobitora wild life sanctuary are very near to Guwahati.


Proceedings and souvenir
It is proposed to make available the proceedings of the conference in print and CD forms. All accepted papers will be published in conference proceedings. It is also planned to bring out an attractive souvenir that will include the abstracts of all papers and would be a valuable reference. The souvenir will include advertisements also. Please note that organizing committee may refuse to publish an advertisement, if it is felt that it is not in the public interest.

Registration
The registration fee will be Rs. 5000/- for Indian. At least one author of the accepted paper has to register for presentation.

Accommodation
The participants have to arrange for accommodation and food on their own. A special conference dinner will be arranged for the participants. About 30 rooms will be available in guest house and 100 in hostels. The rooms booking will be based on first-cum first-serve basis.
