Short Term Training Programme On Advances in Heat and Mass Transfer (Cosponsored by TEQIP Phase II)

Short Term Training Programme
On
Advances in Heat and Mass
Transfer
(Cosponsored by TEQIP Phase II)
03-07 JUNE, 2013
Call for Participation
Organized by
DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
AND
DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
MAULANA AZAD NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF
TECHNOLOGY, BHOPAL-462051(M.P)

About the Training Programme:

Heat transfer methods are used in numerous disciplines, such as automotive engineering, thermal management of electronic devices and systems, climate control, insulation, materials processing, and power station engineering. Similarly Mass transfer occurs in many processes, such as absorption, evaporation, adsorption, drying, precipitation, membrane filtration, and distillation. Mass transfer is used by different scientific disciplines for different processes and mechanisms. Industries always strive to improve their competitive position in the intense global competition as a resultof rapid technology changes and shifting pattern of world markets. One of the strategies of improving the performance of an industry is development of new products with lower cost, higher quality, and at higher performance. This required theunderstanding of different techniques of enhancement of Heat and Mass transfer for both academicians and industry personnel. The course contents are prepared in order to cover all the above aspects with the help of lectures, practical classes and case studies
Course Content:
ÿ Fundamental of Heat and Mass Transfer
ÿ Basic of Computational Fluid dynamics
ÿ Advances in Temperature field and velocity field measurement.
ÿ Design of Heat exchangers
ÿ Practical problems of Industries and their solutions e.g. Power Plant and Cold Storages
ÿ Catalysis with heat and Mass Transfer
ÿ Roll of Thermodynamics by understanding the heat and Mass Transfer
ÿ Fuel Cells
ÿ Process Intensification
ÿ Pinch Technology
ÿ Cases, Field Trips and Practical exposure to LCT Program Faculty Programme faculty include Experts from reputed Engineering Institutes and Industry, the coordinators, and the senior faculty members of MANIT Bhopal
