ABSTRACT
What is Nanotechnology?
Imagine a medical device that travels through the human body to seek out and destroy
Small clusters of cancerous cells before they can spread. Or a box no larger than a sugar
Cube that contains the entire contents of the Library of Congress. Or materials much
lighter than steel that possesses ten times as much strength.
Nanotechnology is often referred to as a general-purpose technology. That's because in
Its advanced form it will have significant impact on almost all industries and all areas of
Society. It offers better built, longer lasting, cleaner, safer, and smarter products for the
Home, for communications, for medicine, for transportation, for agriculture, and for
industry in general.
The paper which is being presented here begins with introduction about Nanotechnology, some historical background, scope and application in field of electronics and telecommunication, agriculture, defence, energy and environment, space exploration, transportation, biomedical sciences& latest research’s at in INDIA.
INTRODUCTION:-
Nanotechnology is the understanding and control of matter at dimensions of roughly 1 to 100 nanometers, where unique phenomena enable novel applications. Encompassing nanoscale science, engineering and technology, nanotechnology involves imaging, measuring, modeling, and manipulating matter at this length scale.
At the nanoscale, the physical, chemical, and biological properties of materials differ in fundamental and valuable ways from the properties of individual atoms and molecules or bulk matter. Nanotechnology research & developments is directed toward understanding and creating improved materials, devices, and systems that exploit these new properties.
The concept of Nanotechnology, first suggested by Richard Feynman over 40 years ago, is now coming much closer to actual existence.
Nanotechnology is a technology in which most of the work is to done in the future and till now mainly the concept of this technology has been proposed. So the scientists are now making long promises for the future of this technology.
