10 Great Ideas to change the world in the Next 50 Years

Dear All ,

As you might be aware, IIT Bombay is celebrating its golden jubilee and as part of this celebration we have a mega event – 10 Great Ideas to change the world in the Next 50 Years. This initiative is consistent with IITB’s vision of being the Fountainhead of New Ideas and Innovators in Technology and Science. We are delighted that this event is conducted in collaboration with Godrej.

In this event we invite you to submit your ideas that you believe will change the world in next 50 years. Your ideas can be in any field of science and technology or in the general area of security. We believe that you and your ideas would be the prime movers for the world.

Terms and Conditions

1. The event is open to All.
2. Your ideas can be in any field of science and technology.
3. You will have to register yourself first at http://10greatideas.iitb.ac.in and then submit the idea upto May. 31st, 2009
4. Web submission of ideas is highly encouraged. In some special case you can download the Registration form and Idea submission form and snail mail it to us after filling it at:

5. Before you submit the idea, please accept the terms and conditions.
6. After online submission of the idea you can revise your idea. Your idea, as submitted will be frozen on May. 31st, 2009.
7. You (each member) can submit only one idea.
8. The criteria for evaluating the Ideas will center on:

* Novelty / Originality
* Impact on the world
* Feasibility
* Contribution to Human development (Human development index)
* Environmental impact

9. World renowned thought leaders will judge your idea. The panel of judges will be put up very shortly.
10. The IPR for the idea resides with the presenter of the idea.
11. IIT Bombay, in co-ordination with the Godrej group, will help incubate some of the top 10 ideas.
12. The top 10 ideas will be declared by an eminent panel of judges during the grand finale, the tentative date for which is First Week of August.
