High Strength Steel Fibre Reinforced Silica Fume concrete

High Strength Steel Fibre Reinforced Silica Fume concrete

Abstract

Concrete is the most versatile material that is widely used in all parts of world. There are changes in various properties of various materials and like wise some properties of concrete is to be enhanced by suitable means and it is mandatory . This paper deals with experimental research investigation on strength characteristics of high strength steel fibre reinforced silica fume concrete (HSSFRSFC).
In this paper experiment carried on casting cubes and cylinder for  16 mix trials of M80 grade concrete with three steel fibre volume fractions of 0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5% by volume of concrete and three weight fractions of silica fume namely 5%,10% and 15% by weight of cement and the compressive strength and split tensile strength of the concrete is explained.
