ABSTRACT:
The world is now stands at the brink of technological revolution, out of those technologies one is the Micro Electrical Mechanical System technology which plays an important role and which has change the vary nature of human made structures, devices, systems and will lead to unprecedented break through in a wide range of applications.
To show its full potential today’s engineers must understand the various methods, techniques and technologies which is used to formulate design and optimize high performance of micro electromechanical system.
It is an enabling technology allowing the development of small product by using electronics material and mechanical devices as “a set of tools designed to build a smaller set of tool” for example- a millimeter size factory that builds micrometer size factories.
Today, Micro Electro Mechanical System (MEMS) devices are making the world of future into reality. They are commonly found as sensors in automobile airbags. On the contrary, they are making extensive in roads into medical, aviation, defense and wireless optical communication system.
MEMS makes it possible for a system of all kinds to be smaller, faster, more energy efficient and less expensive. In a typical MEMS configuration, integrated circuits (ICs) provide the “thinking” of the system. MEMS sensors are spread over a military side and communicate information to humans or computer ready to interpret possible troop movements. MEMS devices convey information about the roadway, traffic and accidents to automobiles mounted global positioning system allowing drivers to avoid problems.
It is an enabling technology allowing the development of small products, augmenting the computational ability of micro electronics with the perception and control capabilities of micro sensors and micro actuators and expanding the same of possible design and applications. MEMS promises to revolutionize nearly every product category by bringing together silicon-based microelectronics with micromachining technology, making possible the realization of complete systems-on-a-chip.
This paper show how much and to what extent the MEMS technology can over-ruled the world with its application without spewing pollution in atmosphere and economically overcome all the complication which is faced by world today .It also highlight the elementary to MEMS, they are gently growing and the scope is beyond this paper .MEMS is not about any one single application or device nor it is define by a single fabrication Process or limited too few materials. Moreover, MEMS is a fabrication approach that conveys the advantages of miniaturization to multiple components and micro electronics to the design and construction of integrated electromechanical system.
