SIMULATION ON MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS
ABSTRACT:
Today, after more than four decades of presence in the manufacturing industry, we can conclude that simulation as a technology has become extremely powerful, that simulation software – although not entirely adequate – still appears very capable, and that methodologies for perfuming simulation projects are reasonably well-developed and documented. Simulation can now be applied to a wide range of Manufacturing System Development activities, and as evidence of what this technology can do, successful cases from various industrial sectors already have been reported. In brief, simulation can have significantly positive impacts on the quality, cost and time aspects of Manufacturing System Development and the product realization process. Today all the big consultancy firms in manufacturing/manufacturing-management/Business Management in the World use simulation as their prime tool.
Now a days many working managers are using simulation in their day to day operations on increasingly regular basis. After seeing the rosy picture of application of simulation in all practical area I felt that there should be enough scope for the academia and Industry to concentrate on various aspect of simulation to exploit its benefits. At this juncture, I fell it is my prime job to make my listeners to appreciate this technology and motivate them to use of various simulation packages.
