ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY IN AUTOMOBILES

Abstract:

With the advanced technique emerging in automotive industry the passenger cars are also getting more and more refined, within a past couple of years almost each and every system of a passenger car, right from structure, suspension, steering to braking and ignition have undergone many improvements.
With the increasing fuel price the present market demands, cars which are fuel efficient. Looking towards the same efforts have been made by us to study and present the factors affecting the fuel consumption of a car.
In our paper we have included advanced technique in design like aerodynamic design of the car which is responsible for the drag force.
Factors such as use of composite materials to increase the strength to weight ratio and the friction between the wheels and the road surface are also discussed.
Emphasis has been given on the measures to reduce the transmission losses and cooling losses, which make the car’s fuel consumption even less.
Also, attempts have been made by us to suggest some beneficial and revolutionary changes, which can enable more fuel-efficient car on road in coming future.
Through this paper we are trying to understand the dependency of the fuel consumption on the different systems of car.
