International Conference on Mathematical Modelling NIT Calicut

International Conference on Mathematical Modelling NIT Calicut

INTRODUCTION:

As a part of Golden Jubilee Celebrations of National Institute of Technology Calicut, the Department of Mathematics is organizing an International Conference on Mathematical Modelling and Applications to Industrial Problems (MMIP 2011) during March 28-31, 2011. The conference aims to provide a platform to disseminate recent developments in mathematical modelling and to explore the advances in numerical techniques and scientific computing. Further, it is planed to provide a good exposure for students and young researchers and encourage them to pursue their research career in these areas.

Objectives:

The major objectives of this international conference are:

* To provide a platform for disseminating recent developments in mathematical modeling
* To explore advances in scientific computing
* To exchange ideas between academicians and personnel from industry
* To expose young researchers and students to international experts in modelling and simulation

Topics:

* Mathematical Modelling in Sciences, Engineering, Energy Systems, Meteorology, Material sciences, Signal and Image processing
* Scientific Computing including Computational fluid dynamics, Computational PDEs, Soft Computing and Applications
* Control and Optimization, Stochastic Systems, Dynamical systems with Applications, Multi-scale Analysis and Asymptotic Methods.

Additionally, contributions from various other disciplines in which mathematical methods are expected to play a role are welcome.

Expected consequential benefits of the proposed conference

The inaugural, invited and contributed sessions will be useful to the participating scientists, academicians, industrial people, students and researchers who are interested and/or active in the field of mathematical modeling, simulation techniques and their integration in solving real life problems from various domains. The participants are expected from all over the world to improve the understanding of basic concepts, application, and recent developments in modelling and simulations.

* The students and young scientists will find the programme especially useful to pursue their research in an innovative way.
* People from Industry seeking technical assistance will be getting connected to national as well as international experts.
*Developed or discussed model and numerical techniques can be integrated in commercial software for solving various industrial problems.

In general, this conference is expected to assist the participants to establish national or international collaborative research and development programme.
