Objectives

To introduce participants to the emerging world of Web 2.0 and the architecture of participation -- where one goes beyond passive browsing and plays an active role in contributing to and building the web in a manner that benefits the individual and the organisation.

Day 2

1. What is Cloud Computing ?
2. Workshop : Practical Cloud Computing with Google Docs
3. Spreading your message with Slidecasts and Podcasts
4. Workshop : Building free applications on the web
a. An Event Registration applications
b. Questionnaires for Market Research
5. A quick look at the 3D Virtual world of Second Life

Target Audience

"I am manager, not a programmer" is a refrain that is often held by those living in denial about the ubiquity of the web in the contemporary economy. They pretend that it is beneath their dignity to work with technology whereas in reality it may be beyond their ability! This workshop is meant for Senior and Middle Level executives of companies who feel that they are being left behind in the march of technology. This course will help such individuals understand that just as the ability to send an email or SMS has become indispensable in the corporate world, so would an active participation in the use of tools and technologies of Web 2.0 be a skill that is will be at a premium in the years to come.
Resource Requirements / Mode of Delivery

This is workshop oriented "Do-it-yourself" kind of a program supported by lectures and presentations. Each participant would need a personal computer desktop or laptop and a reliable access to the internet.

Materials Management

January 5 -7, 2011

Course Objective

Management of materials plays an important role in providing a competitive edge in today’s competitive Business Scenario. Apart from managing working capital, management of materials also helps in improving product performance. Management of inventory is an essential component of Materials Management function. In addition to Raw Materials and Consumables, management of Spares is also very critical; especially for process industry. The programme is focused on understanding and developing appropriate strategy for materials and inventory management.
