ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The conference will be held for three days with parallel sessions on various themes. There will be keynote sessions in the conference, and each technical session will have one invited lecture. Panel discussion on the conference title will be held towards the conclusion of the conference.
ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING
The Department of Civil Engineering is one of the oldest Departments in this Institute.  It was established at the inception stage of the Calicut Regional Engineering College (CREC), which was the forerunner to the present National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NITC) in 1961. At present, the Department offers undergraduate program in Civil Engineering leading to the B.Tech. degree and four graduate programs one each in Structural Engineering, Traffic and Transportation Planning, Offshore Structures, and Environmental Geotechnology leading to the M.Tech. degree of the Institute. In addition to the above, there are a number of students pursuing research in various fields of Civil Engineering in the Department leading to Ph.D. The Department is a recognized QIP centre of the AICTE for both M.Tech. and Ph.D. programs. In addition to the above courses, the Department has been conducting a number of short term training programs for the benefit of faculty of technical institutions and working professionals. The Department is also actively engaged in R&D, testing and consultancy activities.

Authors are invited submit an abstract of up to 300 words by 15th December 2010 through Online submission. Authors will be notified of acceptance of abstract by 31st December 2010.

Conference registration fee is to be paid by demand draft only, in favour of AMTID 2011 payable at SBI, NITC (code 2207). The fee includes; course material, working lunch, conference dinner, refreshments etc. All other expenses will have to be borne by the participants themselves.
