Centre for Energy is organizing a summer school in collaboration with the University of Nottingham, UK. At Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati
OBJECTIVE
To provide an attractive forum for bringing together bright Doctoral (PhD/EngD) students from India and United Kingdom to develop and broaden interdisciplinary knowledge applicable to research in fossil energy
technologies to solve problems in a wide range of global settings.

ACTIVITIES OF THE SUMMER SCHOOL
Lecture sessions on cutting edge research in the area of fossil fuels, renewable energy, issues related to environmental compatibility , etc.
Intensive discussions and brain-storming sessions (from basic theoretical aspects to final applications)
Individual presentations, group presentations and poster presentations
Interaction between the students and the participating professors on various aspects of research to facilitate exchange of ideas in a candid manner. Sessions will be moderated by faculty members
Student lectures on predefined specific topics

PARTICIPATION
First and second year PhD students involved in research on fossil fuels, renewable energy, combustion, environmental aspects, etc in various departments and centres of reputed academic institutes
Nominations of a maximum 3 (three) students from each institution will be considered
All applications must duly be forwarded by the Head of Institution or the Dean (Academic)
No registration fees
Necessary travel, accommodation and local hospitality will be borne by the organizers
