The Institution

PSG College of Technology was established in the year 1951 by PSG & Sons Charities Trust. It is an AICTE approved, government aided, autonomous institution affilated to Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore and ISO 9001 certified. Most of the programmes have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). This Institution believes in creating and disseminating knowledge and skills in core and frontier disciplines through innovative educational programmes, industrial training, research and consultancy and thereby developing competent and socially responsible professionals.

A number of educational programmes are offered in Engineering, Information Technology, Management, Science and Technology at Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral levels on full time and part time basis. The Institution collaborates with Industries, research laboratories and universities abroad in various areas of joint academic programmes, research and training. PSG College of Technology encourages independent thinking, strong domain knowledge, contemporary skillsets and positive attitude which are the need of the hour for holistic development of the students.

Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering

The department is one of the first few that was started during the inception of the college in the year 1951. New courses were introduced subsequently and the existing ones were restructed to reflect the state of the art. All India Council for Technical Education has recognized the department as a Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) Centre for Post Graduate and Doctoral Programmes.
Research programmes leading Ph.D are carried out in the areas of Electrical Machines, Power Electronics and Drives, Control Systems, Renewable Energy Systems, Biomedical Engineering, VLSI, Computer Networks, Digital Signal Processing, Multiprocessing Systems and Neural Networks and Fuzzy Systems.
Faculty members continually publish the results of their research work as technical papers in national and international journals and in conferences. About 276 papers have been published in the last two years.

The Conference

In the past years, the Power Electronics field has grown considerably. Simultaneously, its applications have also grown in various areas like power supplies, motor control, generation & transmission etc. Power Electronic devices and their controls are already of great significance in the global industrialisation of the current century. Power electronics plays a key role in energy saving by efficient utilization of electricity.
This Conference provides a platform for researchers of various institutons and industries spread across the globe to come together and present the new technological enhancements in the field of power electronic drives and their control strategies . Upon acceptance, atleast one of the authors must register for the conference in order for the paper to be included in the proceedings. Best papers will be published in reputed International journals.
