About the University

Anna University was established on 4th September 1978 as a unitary type of University. It offers higher education in Engineering, Technology and allied Sciences relevant to the current and projected needs of the
society. Besides promoting research and disseminating knowledge gained there from, it fosters cooperation between the academic and industrial communities.
Situated in the southern part of the city of Madras (Chennai), the Uni-versity's main campus extends over 100 hectares abutting the Adyar River on the north and Raj Bhavan on the south. The Anna Univer-

About the Department

Anna University Chennai is a leading technical University in India located at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Department of Information Science & Technology (IST),& Division of MCA Under IST was carved out of the , Department of Computer Science and Engineering in May 2010. The Department functions under the Faculty of Information and Communi-cation Engineering. Dr.G.V.Uma, is currently the Head(i/c) of the Department. IST function as one of the University Department having academic autonomy of having its own syllabus and curriculum. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes in various disciplines of Information Technology, Multimedia & MCA Degree Programme.

Description

Mobile software development is the process of creating software which can be used on a mobile device. It also re-fers to the creation of special web and applications for mobile devices. This is often done using a mobile simulator on a personal computer.
Mobile software is developed by using different platforms and programming languages based on the target mobile device. There are many different hardware components found in mobile devices so their applications are developed using different software architectures. It is also made more difficult because users of mobile applications have diverse preferences so extensive improvements to traditional sys-tem development methodologies are required in order to keep up with this demand.

Objectives

The workshop is intended to provide for Faculty mem-bers, Research scholars, Industry participants and
Students, from introduction to hands on experience in mobile application development.
Experts from Anna University as well as the industry are expected to deliver the lecture.

How to Apply

Interested aspirants shall send the filled in registration form and the DD in favour of ‘The Director, CPDE’ payable at Chennai, to the Co-ordinator. Lunch will be provided at the workshop. Breakfast, Dinner and Accommodation should be taken care of by the participants only.
