2011 IEEE Applied Electromagnetics Conference (AEMC) At Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics University of Calcutta

The biennial Applied Electromagnetics Conference AEMC 2011 is scheduled to be held during December 18-20, 2011 in Kolkata, India. This is sponsored/supported by IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society.

This is organized by the AP-MTT Joint Chapter of IEEE Calcutta Section in association with the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, India. The conference provides a forum for knowledge sharing and exhibition of theoretical and technological development in the general areas of applied electromagnetics. Special two-hour program is planned to enhance industry-academia interaction. Potential session organizers from universities, research laboratories, and industries are welcome to contact General Chairs for any specific technical topics. Papers presented at the conference are archived in IEEE Xplore.

Student Paper Contest

Call for Technical Student Paper Contest

Original and unpublished research works on the topics of conference are invited for the student paper contest in two different categories:

Category 1: For B. E. /B. Tech/ M. Sc Students
Mode of Presentation: Poster
Category 2: For of M. E. /M. Tech/M. Phil/ Ph. D Student
Mode of Presentation: Oral
Authorship eligibility: For both of the categories maximum of two authors, defined below, will be allowed.
The Primary (First author) and his/her supervisor
OR
The Primary (First author) and one co-author who may be another student or anyone other than supervisor

Guideline: Manuscripts limited to 4 pages including figures, photos, tables, appendices, acknowledgment and references are to be prepared for submission, using AEMC Template downloadable from Paper Submission site (http://www.ieee-aemc.org/). Submissions shall be received starting from June 8, 2011 till August 8, 2011, which is the deadline of submission. Contestants are advised to prepare an error-free manuscript, since there will be no scope for revision. Plagiarism, i.e. verbatim repetition and/or copies from any source in any form, including self-plagiarism (i.e. previously used own material) is strongly discouraged.

During submission contestant will be required to upload a PDF file bearing his/her short biography and full list of publication in journals and conferences.

Evaluation Procedures: The best paper in each category will be selected based on evaluations in 3 phases: (i) Regular review process as adopted in the conference; (ii) accepted papers will be evaluated by a common panel of experts composed of professors/scientists of international repute. Based on this evaluation, maximum of 10 papers will be selected for Poster in Category 1 and 7 papers for Oral presentations in Category 2 (iii) Finally the best paper will be judged by a panel of experts during presentations by the author(s) in the conference. For Category 1, Experts will visit the posters and interact with the students; for Category 2, each Paper will be allowed 15 minutes for oral presentation including Q/A.

Award: The best technical paper in each category will receive an award in the form to be announced and a certificate. Awards will be announced and presented in the morning session of Day 2 (December 19, 2011).

A registered participant will be allowed to present maximum of ONE paper. For each additional paper, to be included in the proceedings, as well as presented in the conference, the participant is required to pay an additional amount of INR 1000 / USD 50.
