Centre for Inter-disciplinary Research in Basic Sciences (CIRBSc)

The Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Science has been established in April 2006 under a special grant by University Grant Commission (UGC) with an objective of providing a common platform for the researchers and scientist from basic sciences to implement their ideas to understand biological problems faced by life sciences. The Centre has 14 dedicated faculties; a few of them have received significant professional recognition with overseas links. Centre has over 40 research scholars. Being interdisciplinary, the faculty of the Centre is divided into the groups in basic sciences and life sciences working in respective fields and collaborating with each other as a basic effort to bridge up the gap between biologists and people from other disciplines. As a whole, the faculty published more than 140 publications in the last three years and pursuing externally funded research grants of Rs. 30 million (Indian Rupees); through the projects funded by various government agencies such as UGC, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Council for the Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) on various topics. Nanotechnology and nanobiotechnology both are amongst the major focus of the Centre. This conference will provide a platform to collaborate with our faculties, and academicians, scientist, engineers and industrialist having common interest around the globe. This conference is one of the steps to fulfill the aim and scope of the establishment of this centre. more...
