Venue : Cotton College, Guwahati, Assam, India.

Submission of Abstract

Papers on any of the sub-themes mentioned above are invited for presentation. However, organizers reserve the right to reject or accept any paper and to place the paper in any Technical Session. The abstract of paper should be typed with double space in Times Roman(font size 12),title of the paper, name of author(s),affiliation and text not exceeding 400 words to be sent to the Convener or Joint Convener or Organizing Secretary, Organizing Committee, International Seminar on Bioresources and Human Sustenance by e-mail or in CD before 30th June,2011.

Proceedings

Proceedings of the seminar will be published immediately after the seminar is over. Authors will be informed by e-mail about the acceptance of their abstracts for presentation on or before 31st August,2011.Papers presented in the seminar only are eligible for publication in the proceedings. Standard format for the full paper shall be sent to the authors with the abstract acceptance letter.

Seminar-20th, 21st and 22nd October,2011
Abstract submission- 30th June, 2011
Registration (early bird)-Before 30th July, 2011
Full paper submission- 31st August, 2011

Registration Fee

1.Indian and SAARC participants : ` 1000 (Early Bird, Before 30th June- ` 800)
2.For other foreign participants : $120 (Early Bird ,Before 30th June $105)
3.Indian and SAARC student participants: ` 800/-(Early Bird, Before 30th June ` 700)
4.Accompanying Member: For Indian and SAARC participants- ` 800 and for other foreign participants- $ 105
5. Institutions, Indian and SAARC industries : ` 1500
6. Institution & Foreign Industries : $ 150

Accomodation

Hotel accommodation will be provided on request and payment for at least one day in advance to be sent with registration form. Hotel tariff ranges from ` 800 onwards in semideluxe rooms.

Food: Working lunch and tea between the academic sessions will be provided by the organizers.

Mode of Payment

All kinds of payment should be sent to the Treasurer, Organizing Committee, International Seminar on Bioresources and Human Sustenance by Demand Draft payable at Guwahati or by wire transfer.

Field Trip (subject to adequate number of intending candidates)

1. To Kaziranga National Park on 23rd&24th October,2011(one night stay) inclusive of Elephant/Jeep Safari. Hotel(twin sharing excluding food, camera and entry fee) ` 3000.
2. To Shillong on 24th October ` 1500(inclusive of food).
3. Brahmaputra River Cruise on 22nd /23rd evening `400.

(50% of the above tariff for all the trips shall be paid in advance with registration fee)

About the College

Cotton College, established in 1901, has been rendering its services to the entire North East India for last 110 years and producing numerous luminaries, placed across the world today. This PG College offers as many as 21 subjects in 22 departments. The college which began only with 39 students and 5 teachers has now more than 5000 students and 235 teachers.

The NAAC has reaccredited the college as Grade- A.

It has also been recognized as the “College with Potential with Excellence”.

About the Zoology Department

The Zoology Department of Cotton College was started in May, 1940 with the introduction of Zoology as one of the subjects in I.Sc. Class. It was upgraded to an Under Graduate Department in1948.From the session 1974-75 Post Graduate Course was started under Gauhati University with three special papers. The laboratory of the Department has been recognized by the Gauhati University to carry out Doctoral Research. The Department has received the financial assistance from DST under FIST Programme.

The Department has completed seventy years of its glorious existence. Presently, the Department has eight research guides and 55 research scholars working in various fields of interest.

Location

Cotton College is located at Panbazar, 500 metres from Guwahati Railway Station and 25 km from the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.

Weather

In summer temperature varies from 180C to 350C and in winter ranges from

70C to 260C.In the month of October, temperature is usually pleasant.
