Call for Participation
The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur is organizing a short Term Course- Intrusion Detection Tools and Techniques for Security (IDTTS-2013)) from 21-25 March, 2013. Distinguished academicians, practitioners, young faculty members, research scholars, and students are invited to participate in IDTTS-2013

Objectives of the Short Term Course 
The objective of the course on “Intrusion Detectio Intrusion Detection Tools and Techniques n Tools and Techniques for Security (IDTTS-2013)” is to provide an understanding of methodologies, techniques, and tools for monitoring events in computer system or network, with the objective of preventing and detecting unwanted process activity and recovering from malicious behavior. The course is based on a series of lectures and hands on practical session. At the end of the course, participants shall have an understanding of the state of the art of intrusion detection research and hands-on exposure to the principles, tools and techniques used in intrusion detection. The course will also help the academicians to introduce the course on IDS at undergraduate as well as postgraduate level. The course will be conducted through lectures and a series of practical sessions with hands on component (Routers/Switches/Network monitoring tools/IDS tools etc.).

Registration
A course registration fee is R 500/- per person for faculty from academic institutes, R 250/- for students and R 1000/- for delegates from industries and R&D organizations. The fee should be submitted, along with the filled registration form through Bank Draft drawn in favour of “Registrar, NIT Hamirpur

General Information
Accommodation and travelling expenses are to be borne by the participants/sponsoring agency. Limited accommodation on actual charges may be available at NIT Guest House/Aravali Guest House. A request for this need is to be made in advance. The participant will not be paid any TA/DA.
