SRM UNIVERSITY

Sri Ramaswamy Memorial University, popularly known as SRM University is a premier co-educational private university in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The university has three campuses in Tamil Nadu at Kattankulathur (Chennai), Ramapuram (Chennai), Trichy and one in Modinagar, near Delhi. Previously functioning under Anna University, as SRM Engineering College, the institute gained deemed status in 2003-04, and was renamed SRMIST (SRM Institute of Science and Technology) and then eventually called SRM University. Based on several leading newspapers survey, it is one amongst the top private universities in India.

EDUCATION

The university offers courses in twenty four branches of Engineering at the undergraduate level and thirty two specialization streams at the post graduate level in addition to MBA & MCA programs. The institute has been accredited with a grade B+ by NAAC.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

The University offers various research programmes in different disciplines of Science & Humanities, Engineering & Technology and Medical & Health Science. It runs collaborative research projects and possesses Center of Excellence in Nanotechnology and Total - Quality - Management (TQM). Especially, the Nanotechnology Research Center (NRC) at SRM University is well equipped with the recent sophisticated and analytical equipments. Some of the fields of research are: Nano-structured Materials & Nanomagnetism, Synthesis and characterization of carbon nano-tubes and carbon nano-structures, Anti-microbial and toxicity studies of nano-particles, Environmental Nanotechnology, Development of nano-filters for water and air purification etc.

ICONN-2010

ICONN 2010 is an initiative to bring about challenging leads, enhancing research skills and edifying insights in field of Nanoscience and technology. This gives an opportunity to researchers and scientists across the globe to improve the current state of technology which would help in the betterment of mankind. ICONN 2010 will lead to a repository of scientific data which can be shared by both Indians and scientists abroad. Apart from that, this conference is greatly indebted and dedicated to the silver jubilee celebrations of SRM University 2009 - 2010.

ABSTRACTS TO BE SUBMITTED

All abstracts (A4 page) could be submitted electronically to iconn10@srmuniv.edu.in (on or before 20 Nov. 2009).

PUBLICATION

The proceedings of the conference with ISBN/ISSN consisting of the selected papers will be released during conference. One of the authors must be registered for the inclusion of the paper in the proceedings. The specifications for the contributing paper are as follows; "Times New Roman" type font, 11pt, one interval with 1.5 cm top, left, right and bottom margins and non color figures. Type the title in Capital letters, bold font centered. In the next line type the author's name(s) affiliation (in italic) and address (in italic) with one line below, followed by the text of the paper. The maximum no. of pages should be limited to 4.

ACCOMMODATION

Local participants are kindly requested to make their own arrangements. Accommodation will be provided for outstation participants on prior request in the SRM University Hostel.

VENUE

The venue for the ICONN-2010 conference is T. P. Ganesan Auditorium (5000 seating capacity) at SRM University, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India.

DIRECTIONS

The main campus of the SRM University is located in the outskirts of Chennai city (previously known as Madras, southern capital of state Tamilnadu). It is well connected by road and rail transport. The nearest airport is Meenampakkam, roughly of about 20 Kms away from SRM-university, Chennai.
