Objectives
Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) is a recent phenomenon that has the potential to revolutionize the industry, academics and research. Interest in FOSS is growing globally, particularly in developing countries. Governments are considering policies to promote its use, businesses are recognizing its potential and various other sectors are giving increasing attention to the opportunity for localization that it presents. The impact of FOSS will be felt in many areas. This conference will focus on FOSS in IT, IT Enabled Services, Education and Research and the role it can play in schools, colleges and universities. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have the potential to improve the quality of education. However, educational institutions are often faced with financial constraints. Competing demand for resources and the high cost of ICT can be a major obstacle to providing ICT facilities in educational institutions. FOSS has the potential to help lower the cost barrier by reducing the cost of software, which is an important component of ICT facilities. Besides the cost benefits, there are numerous other advantages in using FOSS in education, including pedagogical benefits. FOSS is considered to have better reliability, performance and security. This conference is intended to help policy-makers and decision-makers understand the potential use of FOSS: where and how it can be used, why it should be used, and what issues are involved. In particular, officials in departments of education, school and university administrators, academic staff and researchers should find this conference extremely useful.

International Conference on Green Technology and Environmental Conservation At SATHYABAMA UNIVERSITY, Chennai, Tamilnadu
About the Conference
The Global climate change argument pales in comparison to the consequences the world faces, if realistic solutions are not found to address the world energy crisis. Green Technology encompasses a continuously evolving group of methods, materials and techniques for generating energy and non-toxic products. The present expectation is that this field will bring innovations and changes in daily life, of similar magnitude, to the information technology predominance over the last two decades. Protection of the environment is needed from various human activities. Waste, pollution, loss of biodiversity, introduction of invasive species, release of genetically modified organisms and toxics are some of the issues relating to environmental protection. Environmental technology is the application of environmental science and green chemistry to conserve the natural environment and resources, and to curb the negative impacts of human involvement. Sustainable development is the core of environmental technologies. Renewable energy sources can only be harvested when and where the wind blows, the sun shines, the tides flow and the waves roll. However the new alternate energy sources will require only the cooperative effort of many disciplines of engineering, science and architecture. About the Conference
The 3rd International Conference (cdamop2011 ) will focus on developments in atomic ,molecular ,optical & nano science which has proved to be powerful science supporting many other areas of science & technology including industrial technology, information technology, energy, global change, defence, health and medical environmental ,space technology, and transportation.
The conference will involve experimental and theoretical studies of atoms, ions , molecules and nanostructures both at the fundamental level & on the application side using advanced technology . Using modern tools of high-field and ultra fast physics, one no longer merely observes nature, but can reshape and redirect atoms, molecules, particles, or radiation. This new drive towards harnessing quantum dynamics is enormously important to future developments in fundamental physics and applied energy science. Third generation synchrotron sources offer new opportunities to study radiation-matter interactions. Optical techniques have also played a very important role in the creation, understanding and manipulation of atomic and molecular Bose-Einstein Condensates. Complete quantum mechanical description of such properties and interactions is required and to this end, the present conference aims at bringing together experimental and theoretical scientists working in various fields of “Atomic, Molecular,Optical and Nano Physics”, to share and exchange new ideas. Topics of interest in the conference include: Atomic & Molecular Structure, Collision Processes, Data Production and Application, Laser cooling, trapping and Bose-Einstein condensation, High precision and Ultracold phenomena, High harmonic generation and applications, Coherent optical phenomena, Attosecond and Ultrashort pulses and their applications, Reaction dynamics using ultrafast techniques, Quantum optics and its applications to Mesoscopic systems, Other topics covered are: Spectroscopy of Solar and Stellar Plasma, The Atomic Universe : Spectra as Probes of Cool Gas. The rapidly growing field of nanophysics is introduced as a separate conference topic this time, which include, Nano-structures and Photonics. In the last, a session will also be devoted to Application of Atomic, Molecular Optical and Nano Physics in Petroleum, Renewable energy, Environmental Science, Information Technology, Health and Education in Developing Countries.
Main Topics to be Included but not limited to
* Atomic & Molecular Structure, Collision Processes, Data Production and Application.

XXIst Annual Convention of NAOP and International Conference on Human Development and Poverty: Alternative Conceptualizations and Measurement At Institute of Rural Management, Gujarat
The National Academy of Psychology (NAOP), India and the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA), Anand (Gujarat) together announce the XXIst Annual Convention of the National Academy of Psychology (NAOP), India, to be held at IRMA, from December 12 to 14, 2011. The conference aims to provide a space for a contemporary intellectual debate on varied issues in psychology aimed at human welfare. Apart from having different topics in psychology the conference will also have an International Symposium on the multidimensionality and varied conceptualization of human development and poverty by keeping 'human' at the centre of discourse. Debates will focus on alternative conceptualizations and measurement of poverty and human development. The theme of the conference “Human Development and Poverty: Alternative Conceptualizations and Measurements” seeks to examine how inner and the subjective construction by human beings, both at the individual and collective level, can be a source of creative transcendence in overcoming the structural barriers in creating life that is both meaningful and happy. How do different factors at subjective level and at the level of material world interact and how do they change each other. On behalf of NAOP 2011 scientific committee, we invite you to submit symposium proposals and papers for oral and poster sessions and to participate. We look forward to seeing you this December in IRMA, Anand (Gujarat)
Theme
Human development and poverty: Alternative conceptualizations and measurement
Conceptualization of poverty has moved way ahead of measures of income or food intake. A slow but firm paradigmatic shift is taking place in theoretical and academic understanding which refuse to constrain itself to only measures of income and consumption. There is a need to inform representations of poverty created by the state and global multilateral institutions by alternative conceptualizations emerging from different fields of social sciences. This would help develop balanced views on the nature of deprivations and strategies needed to address poverty and usher on a course of human development.
The need to focus on human development is critically important at this stage of civilization mainly because economic prosperity of a nation is no guarantee for the development and well-being of its citizens. It is equally no guarantee for equity, justice, basic human rights and sustainability built in the growth process. This is being believed more so by scholars and critics who have deep disbelief in the capability of the new global economy to develop a justifiable socio-economic order. The origins of alternative views are mainly attributed to understanding poverty as different forms of capability deprivations. These forms of deprivations could be varied in nature and be economic, social, cultural or psychological.
It is however deep inside many disciplines of social sciences there have been alternative views for sometime which saw poverty in its modern and debilitating form a product of new socio-economic order which got established on the remnants of the communities of the pre-capitalistic age which valued simplicity, reciprocity and moral economy at their levels despite being unequal. This new social form is breeding deprivations of many kinds which are both material and non-material in nature. This symposium aims to add to the emerging discourse which would correct traditional conceptions of poverty and develop newer ways it could be understood or measured. These alternatives have still remained on the margins not with regard to volumes of work and reams of paper being produced but with regard to its impact in modifying the policy environments and implementation structures to promote human development. In such a scenario when purely economic solutions are still offered to the most problems of poverty, which are not always effective enough, alternative conceptualizations and measurements would help in generating a more nuanced view of the problem. It would also show us alternative pathways for removal of poverty and promotion of human development.
General Information
The theme of the conference goes well with the academic focus of the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA), Anand (www.irma.ac.in), the local host of the XXIst annual convention of NAOP. Its thirty-one yearlong struggle to debate in poverty reduction in rural landscape in management and multiples social science disciplines like psychology, sociology, history and economic with a focus on the socio-historical and political context, which will definitely provide the right kind of intellectual milieu for this conference.
Call for Proposals
Submissions are invited for symposia, individual oral and poster presentations relating to the theme of the conference as well as broader areas of Psychology and Behavioural sciences.
A proposal can be submitted for:
Individual paper presentation: 20 minutes including discussion. Individual papers will be grouped into larger symposia by theme.
Invited and Self-organised symposium: groups may propose to organize 3/4 papers and a moderator/discussant around a common theme as a full session will range between 90 to 120 minutes including discussion. For self-organized symposium, please submit one abstract for each of the papers.
Poster presentation: selected posters will be displayed, and sessions will be set up for conference participants to interact with poster presenters.
Guidelines for Symposium
A symposium should be composed by an introduction (300 words) and names of a chair to introduce the topic of the symposium, and of a discussant to introduce the general discussion. Each symposium will have three to maximum of five papers (1000 words for each paper, including title and 5 key words).
Guidelines for abstract (Oral/Poster presentations)
Papers should be composed by a short abstract (maximum 300 words) and be submitted in English. The abstract of the empirical papers must mention the purpose, theoretical and conceptual framework, methodology (Research questions and hypotheses, sample, research tools and designs, tools for analysis), ethical considerations if any, main findings, and implications for policy or practice.
The theoretical paper may mention briefly the purpose, the thesis, the organizing construct, the scope of the paper, data sources used and the conclusions.
Indicate into which particular conference topics or, broad NAOP divisions (Cognitive, Developmental, Organizational, Health, Social, etc.) you wish your abstract to be included.
Indicate the form of presentation (ORAL /POSTER).
Do not use abbreviations in the title.
Use 12-point Times New Roman font for the text with single line spacing without indentations.
Use the format given below for submission of abstracts.
Note: All the submissions (individual papers and symposium proposals) will be reviewed by the scientific committee using the following indicators: clarity of the problem stated, novelty and innovative value of the study, relevance for Indian society if the study is undertaken in India, theoretical and methodological tools used, theoretical reasoning, review of previous work and theoretical argumentation used to support conclusions, clarity and overall organisation of the ideas emerging from the study, theoretical and practical implications.

One of the goals of the conference is to bring the Academic and Industrial Research community’s closer. The Conference is soliciting original high quality research papers on all aspects of Advanced Computing Techniques.
Paper Format :( Ms-Word and Adobe PDF)
•Length: Allowed a total of 7 pages for document (including all figures, tables, and references). Additional pages cost Rs.300/ $20 per page with a maximum of 6 pages.
•Paper Title: The main title (on the first page) should begin 1-3/8 inches (3.49 cm) from the top edge of the page, centered, and in Times 14-point, boldface type. Leave two 12-point blank lines after the title.
• Author names & affiliations: Author names and affiliations are to be centered beneath the title and printed in Times 12-point, non-boldface type. Multiple authors may be shown in a two- or three-column format, with their affiliations italicized and centered below their respective names. Include e-mail addresses if possible. Author information should be followed by two 12-point blank lines.
• Margins: Any text or other material outside the margins specified below will not be accepted. All printed material, including text, illustrations, and charts, must be kept within a print area of 6-1/2 inches (16.51 cm) wide by 8-7/8 inches (22.51 cm) high. All text must be in a two-column format. Columns are to be 3-1/16 inches (7.85 cm) wide, with a 3/8 inch (0.81 cm) space between them. Text must be fully justified. A format sheet with the margins and placement guides is available as PDF file. It contains lines and boxes showing the margins and print areas. If you hold it and your printed page up to the light, you can easily check your margins to see if your print area fits within the space allowed.

No font size smaller than 9 points should be used anywhere in your paper, including figure captions. Avoid using bit-mapped fonts if possible. True-Type 1 fonts are preferred.
•Main Text: Type your main text in 10-point Times, single-spaced. Do not use double-spacing. All paragraphs should be indented 1/4 inch (approximately 0.5 cm). Be sure your text is fully justified—that is, flush left and flush right. Please do not place any additional blank lines between paragraphs.
•Figure and Tabel: High quality, camera ready figures and/or tables are required. Captions should be 10-point boldface Helvetica (or a similar sans-serif font). Initially capitalize only the first word of each figure caption and table title. Figures and tables must be numbered separately.
•Headings:
First-order: For example, “1. Introduction”, should be Times 12-point boldface, initially capitalized, flush left, with one blank line before, and one blank line after. Use a period (“.”) after the heading number, not a colon.
Second-order: As in this heading, they should be Times 11-point boldface, initially capitalized, flush left, with one blank line before, and one after.
Third-order: Third-order headings, as in this paragraph, are discouraged. However, if you must use them, use 10-point Times, boldface, initially capitalized, flush left, preceded by one blank line, followed by a period and your text on the same line.
•Footnotes: Use footnotes sparingly (or not at all) and place them at the bottom of the column on the page on which they are referenced. Use Times 8-point type, single-spaced.
•References: List and number all bibliographical references in 9-point Times, single-spaced, at the end of your paper. About the Universities
Mahasarakham University
The historical development of Mahasarakham University, or MSU, may be traced back to March 27, 1968, when it was originally established as the College of Education, Mahasarakham, for the purpose of extending higher education to the nation's Northeastern region. Situated in an outer area north of Maha Sarakham, a small town right at the center of the region, the college functioned to produce quality teachers to serve educational institutions of all levels. The college's status was later elevated when it became a regional campus of Srinakharinwirot University in 1974. At that time there were four faculties: Education, Humanities, Social Sciences and Science. The university finally gained independent status and became Mahasarakham University, Thailand's 22nd government university, on December 9, 1994, when the University Act was graciously authorized by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and published in the Royal Gazette..

# The authors' names and institutions should not appear in the paper.
# Unpublished work of the authors should not be cited.
# Using "we" or "us" in reviews of literature should be avoided, e.g., "In [1] we have proposed..." should be changed to "In [1] the authors have proposed...".
The program committee will evaluate Category A papers as either "rejected" or "accepted as long paper" or "accepted as short paper". All accepted category A papers (long and short) will be fully published in the proceedings.
Category B: Demonstration and application
Proposals for demonstrations will be evaluated based on submitted demonstration summaries stating the following: the purpose of the system to be demonstrated, its user groups, the organization or project for which it is developed, the developers, and the technology used. In addition, the system requirements and the duration of the demo (not exceeding 30 minutes) should be mentioned. Especially master students are encouraged to submit papers presenting their applications and experiences. The maximum size of demonstration summaries is 2 pages (in English, templates here: .tex, .docx, .doc ). Reviewing of category B papers will be double-blind (see above under "category A" papers for details). The workshop proceedings will be published with ISBN number. At least one author of each accepted paper (in each submission category) is required to attend the workshop.
